Today I heard bad news. A very dear friend lost his father today. He is the first person my age to loose a parent. My heart is breaking for him and for his family. Loss is not easy. When someone passes it is also a reminder of my own mortality. Life is fragile. The skies here are dark and dreary. The day is cold, a stark reminder that Spring has not arrived and fooled us once again. But, I also think that the heavens are crying for my friend hopefully consoling his aching heart.
How sad! The worst part of having a friend lose a loved one, is that there is nothing that can make it better except time. Prayers for your friend and his family.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear of your friend's loss. He has you for a friend. That is a good start. It is always hard to lose a loved one, but writing about it and like the comment before me, I'll pray for you friend and his family. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteYou're so correct. When it's close to us, we begin saying "what if?". I'm sorry that you had this happen. Your concern and love will help.
ReplyDeleteGrief is so overwhelming. Knowing you are there and supporting him is a great gift. My thoughts and prayers go out hoping they will help bring comfort and the clarity to work through the loss.
ReplyDeleteI sat in on a 3rd grade lesson on empathy today. Your post is an adult lesson in one. You get an "A." (sorry)
ReplyDeleteMy heart goes out to your friend. I hope he has many loving family members and friends like you around him as he begins his grieving process.
